Empire presents itself as a comprehensive strategy and tactics war game that engages players in a challenging confrontation against the computer. Set on a meticulously generated map featuring diverse land areas, seas, and cities, the primary objective revolves around eliminating the opponent through the capture of cities and annihilation of enemy forces. Once seized, cities provide critical production capabilities, allowing players to generate various units, including armies, fighters, destroyers, submarines, and carriers for both offensive and defensive strategies. The computer opponent is equally determined to thwart your ambitions and dominate the game world.

The gameplay evolves significantly over time; initial phases emphasize exploration, transitioning into organized offensives and defensive maneuvers as players strive for ultimate victory or face defeat.

It is worth noting that typical game sessions can extend up to ten hours, which may lead to an immersive playing experience that some may find addictive. The game's state is conveniently saved in a disk file, facilitating extended play across multiple computer sessions.
